Again, this was not really a question but more of an answer to a question asked many times. If you have any input or feedback feel free to post My previous computer was a Dell XPS and the chassis design is rather different.
The XPS is bigger and there was more room to maneuver and the 2 hard drive slots were very conveniently located - they basically snapped into place.
It looks like a 3rd hard drive would have been possible but I never actually tried it with that computer. If you have big hands you may have to unscrew and remove the video card when plugging or unplugging the SATA cables into the motherboard but hopefully you won't have to do this frequently, perhaps only once. If not, and you want the higher speed, you'll probably have to replace it with a hard drive that is capable of the higher SATA 3. If you're a casual computer user, you probably won't even notice a difference though But I was planning to put a gb Kingston HyperX in it and using that as my boot drive.
Hoping it's possible. Browse Community. Desktops General - Read Only. Turn on suggestions. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type. Showing results for.

However the normal online activation using the CD-key on the case should also work as this would be the first time it's ever used. Thank you for the help. I really do appreciate it. I will hit you up tomorrow when all the parts have arrived. Alright so I'm prepping the USB to be a bootable device and being that I cannot turn my computer on, how will I know what my partition style will be for the 2TB Samsung drive will be? I was going to go ahead and make the USB so all I had to do tomorrow was hook up the drives and install windows on the main drive. This is the drive I will want windows installed on yes?
I got the Seagate 4TB drive in today but I will only be using that drive to install games and stuff on. Also the version of Rufus I am using is 3. I've looked up a video but the interface looks different from the tutorial. I see no problems here yet. You went overkill with 2 TB OS drive considering 4tb for games. You misunderstood me previously. So you wasted some money now.

More tomorrow. I am on the iPhone now so will be short. Got to go. Yes the overkill on the storage is mainly for when I pass this computer onto my wife as she wanted a lot of room to store pictures and videos of our kids and stuff like that, which she does a LOT of.
I'm just wanting to set it up the right way. My only concern on the last post was setting up the bootable USB and getting the correct partition style as I got confused that the tutorial I was watching has an older version of Rufus than what I have downloaded.

Hope this helps someone View solution in original post. As far as I know, there are only 2 hard drive bays just like there was in the XPS system and the two systems are pretty much identical except for the new tech in the I guess I always thought that as the model numbers got larger their were more options. I hope they will update the XPS framework. It could take more RAM and 3 hard drivers - more than The XPS T or system is just a different and larger case design than the smaller series.
I just got my delivered a couple day ago, I"ll be cracking it open tonight to see about adding HDD's. It's been 9 months since this post. Was anyone successful in adding more than 2 hard drives to their XPS ?
Jsuss, you mentioned that there are 4 SATA connections and you can use 2 of them. Were you able to connect 2 more hard drives with those? The reason I'm asking is because I have added another hard drive and I'm getting my second RAID hard drive fails, also Intel rapid Storage doesn't run after I have added the hard drive.
