Why is folder name green




















If I open the folder, all of the filenames inside are in green. Also under "users" my name is in black letters but the public account is in green and when i browse the "windows" and i scroll down to "remote packages" i see the folders "remote apps" and "remote desktops" both of which are empty when io click on them but when i look at their properties is see 3 unkown accounts and "trusted installer" and "authenticated users" and they were written or installed or whatever on dates that were before i even wiped my surface and installed windows Can someone explain to me whats going on here..

I have had an ongoing issue and im thjinking this is some footprints or something left by a hacker. Note this article is applicable to Win 7. Comment from Eric Time July 6, at pm. This works only if you are the owner of the files and folders in question. Ownership cannot be changed. If the SID does not match there is literally nothing that can be done short of formatting the drive to get rid of them. Comment from Naftali Sappir Time July 25, at am.

I can change them back to black easily, but as soon as I move them they change to green again!

This worked for me, thanks! One additional clarification: The file you right-click on to open the Properties box must be one of the Green files.

If you click on a Black folder, for example, because it contains Green files, then when the Properties box is opened, the only option you have is to turn ON encryption, which is the opposite of what you want.
